A memorial dedicated the 82nd Airborne Division near the La Fiere bridge. On the evening of June 5, 1944, units of the 82nd Airborne landed in the area to secure the La Fiere bridge. After four days of fierce fighting with the Germans, the men of the 82nd, secured the bridge and the area.
