Kylemore Abbey was built in the 1850's by Mitchell Henry, as a private home and gift for his wife Margaret. In 1920 Benedictine Nuns turned the home into a boarding school for girls from 1923 to 2010. Kylemore Abbey is located in Connemara in Co. Galway.
